Need to get your students to a website but the URL is really long? Just paste it into this pre-made Google sheet, and it will automatically create a shortened URL and a QR code* for you!
This works well for students using computers, and is especially handy for students using mobile devices with QR scanners. You can easily resize the page so that even students in the back of the room can scan the code!

This works wonderfully well – would you be willing to share the code – I can’t locate anything in the Script Editor area…the request to bit.ly really interests me, how that’s done, and the qrc as well.
Thank you, – James
Hi James,
You’re welcome! This is all done through formulas. There are no scripts at all. If you double click a cell, you’ll see the formula that makes it happen.

Hi Tammy,
I keep getting an error code in cell J2 when I use the URL Shortener. It is generating a QR code successfully, but not a shortened URL.
Can you take a look at it?
This will be SO awesome in my BYOD classroom! Thanks so much for creating and sharing it!
